Afghanistan Edge Bangladesh in Last-Over Thriller to Take 1-0 Lead in Dhaka

In the opening match of the Bangladesh–Afghanistan tournament in Dhaka, Afghanistan clinched a nail-biting 2-wicket victory with just 0.4 overs remaining while chasing 116. Bangladesh, after being sent in to bat, posted 115/8 in their 10 overs, with Mushfiqur Rahim’s 22 off 15 balls the top score, while Fazalhaq Farooqi and Rashid Khan picked up two wickets each to restrict the hosts.

Afghanistan’s chase wasn’t easy as Bangladesh struck regularly. Nasum Ahmed starred with the ball, claiming 4/20, leaving Afghanistan struggling at 98/8. But Rashid Khan held his nerve with an unbeaten 36 off 11 balls, guiding Afghanistan home in dramatic fashion.

With this thrilling win, Afghanistan took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
