In a high-scoring clash of the CC25 Match 6, West Indies defeated Pakistan by 18 runs, thanks to a magnificent knock from Brandon King and a brilliant late spell by Alzarri Joseph.
Batting first, West Indies posted a strong 142/7 in 10 overs. Brandon King led the charge with an explosive 70 off just 21 balls at a staggering strike rate of 333.33, smashing boundaries all around the park. Contributions from Shimron Hetmyer (20 off 7) and Alzarri Joseph (10 off 3)* helped the Windies reach a formidable total despite regular wickets. For Pakistan, Shadab Khan was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3 wickets for 18 runs.
In reply, Pakistan started steadily but couldn’t keep up with the rising required rate. Saim Ayub played a valiant unbeaten knock of 54 off 27 balls, while Salman Ali Agha added a quick 16 off 8*, but the middle order faltered against disciplined bowling.
The turning point came with two superb overs from Alzarri Joseph, who dismissed Babar Azam and Saud Shakeel, swinging momentum back in West Indies’ favor. In the final over, Pakistan needed 26 runs, but could only manage 7, sealing an 18-run victory for the Caribbean side.
Brandon King was deservedly named Man of the Match for his blistering innings that set up the win.
