Holder’s Hurricane Ends Pakistan’s Momentum as West Indies Storm Back in Record T10 Rout
West Indies produced a fierce response in the third match of the Pakistan tour of the Caribbean, crushing Pakistan by five wickets in a brutal T10 encounter at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground. After suffering back-to-back defeats in the opening games, the hosts finally exploded into life with both ball and bat to keep the series alive in emphatic fashion.
The match was dominated by West Indies from the very beginning. Pakistan’s batting lineup, which had somehow survived dramatic collapses in the first two matches, finally ran out of miracles as the Caribbean pace attack ripped through them mercilessly.
Pakistan never recovered after losing wickets in clusters during the powerplay. Alzarri Joseph struck first by trapping Sahibzada Farhan LBW before Jason Holder completely shattered the middle order with a devastating spell. Holder removed Saim Ayub, Mohammad Wasim, Naseem Shah, and Usman Khan with aggressive short bowling and deadly accuracy, leaving Pakistan in complete chaos.
At one stage, Pakistan had collapsed to an unbelievable 20/9, staring at one of the lowest totals imaginable in T10 cricket. Usman Khan stood alone amid the destruction, scoring a fighting 22 off 19 deliveries while the rest of the batting lineup disintegrated around him. Romario Shepherd, Kyle Mayers, and Roston Chase added to the destruction with disciplined support bowling as Pakistan were eventually bowled out for just 42 in 9.1 overs.
Jason Holder’s spell completely changed the tone of the series. After Pakistan had dominated the first two games with fearless bowling performances, West Indies responded with even greater intensity and aggression.
Chasing only 43 for victory, West Indies approached the target with pure attacking intent. However, Pakistan briefly threatened to produce another miracle collapse when Salman Mirza struck three quick wickets, dismissing Brandon King, Nicholas Pooran, and Shai Hope in rapid succession.
For a few moments, memories of Pakistan’s unbelievable defense of 75 in the previous match seemed to return.
But this time West Indies refused to panic.
Jason Holder walked in and instantly finished the contest with explosive hitting, smashing 12 runs from only 4 deliveries. Roston Chase and Sherfane Rutherford added late boundaries as the hosts raced to 45/5 in just 2.4 overs, sealing victory with 44 balls remaining.
Holder was deservedly named Player of the Match for his sensational all-round performance. His four-wicket burst destroyed Pakistan’s innings, and his aggressive finishing with the bat ensured there would be no dramatic comeback this time around.
Despite the loss, Pakistan still lead the five-match T10 series 2-1. However, this match completely shifted momentum and reminded everyone how dangerous the West Indies side can be when their fast bowlers and power hitters click together.
After three matches filled with collapses, last-over drama, impossible defenses, and now a complete demolition, the series has already become one of the most unpredictable and entertaining T10 contests imaginable.
