Winning the toss and batting first, Ireland endured a nightmare beginning as they slipped to 6/2 inside the opening over. However, captain Paul Stirling counterattacked in trademark fashion, smashing 44 off just 23 balls, including six towering sixes, to immediately shift the momentum.
