Pakistan survived one final Caribbean assault to defeat West Indies by five wickets in a thrilling fifth T10 match at Sabina Park, sealing the five-match series 3-2 after one of the most chaotic and entertaining T10 contests imaginable.
After four matches packed with unbelievable collapses, impossible defenses, and brutal power-hitting, the series decider delivered another high-voltage encounter filled with momentum swings and fearless cricket from both sides.
West Indies entered the finale with huge confidence after leveling the series in the previous match, and they immediately attacked Pakistan’s bowlers with aggressive intent. Shimron Hetmyer launched an explosive cameo of 18 from just 4 balls, while Nicholas Pooran added quick runs to maintain the pressure early in the innings.
However, Pakistan’s bowlers repeatedly found breakthroughs whenever the hosts threatened to completely take over the game.
Shadab Khan removed Pooran and later dismissed the dangerous Sherfane Rutherford, whose blistering 40 off 15 balls briefly looked capable of carrying West Indies toward a massive total. Rutherford’s innings was the backbone of the Caribbean batting effort, featuring huge sixes and fearless attacking cricket during the middle overs.
Faheem Ashraf once again proved to be Pakistan’s crisis specialist. The all-rounder delivered crucial breakthroughs by dismissing Shai Hope, Kyle Mayers, and Alzarri Joseph, finishing with outstanding figures of 3 wickets for just 10 runs in 1.2 overs. Naseem Shah and Mohammad Wasim also chipped in with two wickets each as Pakistan bowled West Indies out for 107 in 8.2 overs.
Although 107 was a competitive target in T10 cricket, Pakistan approached the chase with complete aggression.
Sahibzada Farhan set the tone immediately with a brutal assault on the powerplay, smashing 31 runs from only 12 deliveries. Then came Saim Ayub, who completely shifted the momentum toward Pakistan with one of the cleanest innings of the series.
Ayub hammered 37 runs off just 11 balls, including six towering sixes, dismantling the West Indies bowling attack and bringing the required rate rapidly under control. Pakistan stormed to 45 inside the opening stages before West Indies briefly fought back through Kyle Mayers.
Mayers produced another impressive spell with the ball. He took his first hattrick dismissing Farhan, Fakhar Zaman, and Salman Ali Agha in quick succession to create tension in the chase. For a short period, the match appeared to swing back toward the hosts as Pakistan slipped to 45/3.
But unlike earlier collapses in the series, Pakistan kept their composure.
Usman Khan counterattacked with a rapid 18 off 4 balls before Mohammad Nawaz calmly finished the chase with an explosive unbeaten 19 from just 4 deliveries. Pakistan reached 108/5 in only 5.5 overs, completing the chase with more than four overs remaining and silencing the Sabina Park crowd.
Faheem Ashraf was deservedly named Player of the Match for his outstanding bowling performance in the series decider. His ability to strike under pressure repeatedly changed the direction of the match and gave Pakistan control during key moments.
The victory completed a hard-fought 3-2 series triumph for Pakistan after one of the most unpredictable T10 series in recent memory. Across five matches, fans witnessed dramatic last-over escapes, record-low defenses, explosive batting displays, shocking collapses, and nonstop momentum swings.
For West Indies, the series showcased their incredible batting firepower and resilience after recovering from a 2-0 deficit to level the contest. However, Pakistan’s composure in pressure situations ultimately proved decisive in the final match.
The Pakistan tour of the West Indies may have lasted only five T10 games, but it delivered enough drama, chaos, and entertainment to feel unforgettable from start to finish.
