West Indies Seal Dominant Series Lead as Afif Shines but Cornwall–King Duo Finish in Style

West Indies delivered a commanding performance in the 2nd T10 match at Queen’s Park Oval, defeating Bangladesh by 6 wickets with 2.1 overs to spare to take a 2–0 series lead in the three-match contest. Despite Bangladesh posting 116 all out, a mix of explosive hitting and disciplined bowling allowed the hosts to cruise comfortably to victory.

Bangladesh’s innings was unstable from the beginning, losing wickets at regular intervals. Afif Hossain stood tall with a brilliant 47 off 19 balls, combining power-hitting and smart strike rotation to keep the innings alive. Mushfiqur Rahim’s quickfire 21 off 7 and Saif Hassan’s 17 off 7 provided brief support, but every time momentum appeared to build, West Indies struck back. Alzarri Joseph (2/18), Obed McCoy (1/28), Romario Shepherd (2/11), and Rahkeem Cornwall (2/25) ensured Bangladesh never found stability, bowling them out for 116 in 10 overs.

Chasing 117, the West Indies were ruthless from ball one. Brandon King anchored the chase with an unbeaten 43 off 23, while Nicholas Pooran hammered a blistering 18 off 7 before falling to Afif Hossain. The match, however, was turned into a spectacle by Rahkeem Cornwall, who smashed an extraordinary 49 off just 13 balls*, striking with a staggering strike rate of 376.92. His clean hitting dismantled the Bangladeshi attack, making the chase a walkover.

Afif Hossain was the lone standout with the ball for Bangladesh, picking up 4 wickets for 24 runs, delivering a rare four-wicket haul in T10 cricket. However, his heroics weren’t enough to stop the West Indies’ brutal batting display.

In the end, West Indies chased the target in only 7.5 overs, sealing the match and the series with one game still remaining. Their combination of aggressive batting and clutch bowling continues to define their dominance in this T10 series.
